My Closet

Basket, before

I’m making progress on my closet!!  Slow but steady wins the race – as they say!  At this rate I should be done in time to move into assisted living.  ;)   Anywho…I needed some storage solutions so, of course, I headed off to Ikea.  I came home with this ugly thing (no offense intended, Ikea.  You know I love you.)  I bought it because it came in a pack of three.  How pathetic is that?  That’s the only positive thing I can say about this item.  So as my closet project started to evolve, I thought about what I could do to make this bin look less ugly.  All kinds of ideas came to mind involving paint, ribbon, vinyl lettering, etc.  I narrowed my list down to what was easiest and cheapest, because while I want it to look great, I don’t want to break the bank.  I decided to add ribbon –

I loved the handle that was already on this bin, so I just took a piece of ribbon and placed it over the existing handle and tacked it at the top and bottom.

Then I thought I needed some color, so I edged it in green ribbon to go with the color theme.  I just used fabric glue to secure the green ribbon.  Easy.  Done.  Cheap!  What do you think?  Now I need to do 4 more, just like this one.
