Roll Out Shelf

While we were gone over the weekend, the roll out shelf that I had ordered was delivered.  So this a.m. when I woke up the first thing I thought of was…oh fun…I get to install my new shelf!  I know, I’m weird!  So I had my coffee, then ran out to the garage to collect my supplies (still in my flannels!).  I have wanted roll out shelves in my kitchen for quite some time, but for a number of reasons, I never moved forward on the project.  As first I thought I might build the roll out unit, but when I got online, I found that I could purchase the unit for a reasonable amount and the installation looked pretty straight-forward.  So I call this a semi-homemade project.

Here is the before picture — sad, but true.  No matter how many times I  straightened it, when the dishwasher got unloaded, the pots were just stacked randomly in there because visibility was so poor.  Then all it took was an avalanche and well…you can see the result.  Not good.  The builder didn’t put a shelf in because the gas line and electric cord interfered with the right side.  So I was left with this huge space that was really inefficient.

This is the rollout shelf right out of the box.  No assembly required.

They have video instructions online, so installation was a breeze.  You basically just have to anchor it.  I was done in 15 minutes.

I’m so happy with the results.  Now that I know that this is a good product, I will be ordering more for the rest of my cabinets.

I would love to hear your organizational tips for the kitchen!  Please share!  ;)

  1. I have been looking for these for my vanity cabinet, my current cavernous wasteland. Glad to find another source. And I love the fingernail polish and power driver photo! I’m feeling inspired now.

    • You will find several options when you order your pull out. The construction is high quality. The only thing I would do differently is add the clear-coat finish. I ruined my manicure that day. ha. Oh well — it was worth it. ;)
