Storage Bins

First of all, did you know that if you eat 8 banana muffins with cream cheese frosting in 3 days, you will gain weight?  Apparently I did not know that.  Shocker.  So now I feel like a slug and I’m back on the vegetable band wagon.  Erg.  Of course living in the Land of Perpetual Rain, otherwise known as the Pacific Northwest, is not helping.  There’s something about the rain that makes me want to curl up on the couch, watch a movie and work my way through a bag of chips and salsa.  But I will be strong!  Somewhere in my home today, something needs embellishing!!  Speaking of my closet…I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in my renovation.  I don’t know why this is taking me so long.  Oh ya…the rain…Oh well – I’m enjoying the transformation, so I will focus on that!  As you will recall, I had to add some embellishments to the white Ikea bins I purchased to use for storage in my closet.  Well, I didn’t HAVE to, but… you know how it goes.  ;)   Once I got them in place, the black bins I purchased for the top shelf looked naked….so….of course I grabbed my fabric glue and some ribbon — here is the before and after.

Closet, black bin

Since I’m also using some tan boxes in another area of the closet, I thought I would bring in burlap trim to carry over that color scheme.  I had some polka-dot ribbon left, so I added that and finished it off with a white button.  There!  Not naked anymore.  What great storage ideas do you have?  I’d love to hear your ideas!  (Hopefully I will be posting finished pictures of my closet on Friday!  Yippee!)
